Triathlon launches bid to be included in Rio Paralympics

Triathlon could make its debut in the Paralympics at the Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. The International Triathlon Union (ITU) has opened negotiations with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) for the sport to be added to the programme for six categories across the various disabilities.

We work with the National Disability Sports Organisations, National Governing Bodies of Sport and the four Regional County Sports Partnerships to drive forward the development of Disability Sport.

› Miller excels at the Gateshead Disability Athletics Challenge
Disability Challenge

A number of athletes achieved IPC Athletics World Championships qualifying standards in round two of the UKA Disability Athletics Challenge Series at Gateshead International Stadium on Sunday 11th July. These included local athlete Stephen Miller who delivered a high quality and consistent series in the F32/51 Club event with six marks in excess of 30m on his home track.

Durham Cricket Board held it’s first Disability Cricket Family Fun Day at the Emirates Durham ICG on Sunday 4th July. The event was organised in partnership with EFDS North East with sponsorship from npower.

› CP sport Grand Prix Athletics Series 2010

CP Sport will be hosting five Grand Prix competitions during 2010. The winning athletes will be presented with their respective prizes during the CP National Championships on Saturday 18th September at Harvey Hadden Stadium, Nottingham.
