The training division of the English Federation of Disability Sport develops and delivers courses that raise the awareness of the needs of disabled people for sport and leisure providers, to give them the skills to include disabled people in their sports and activities.

The division focuses on empowering disabled people to take a more active role in sport and physical activity by recruiting and training disabled people to be tutors and coaches on its courses.

Courses

› New Disability Equality Training Course - Who is it for? – Anyone who is involved in the delivery of sport and recreation

This three hour course covers appropriate terminology, perceptions of disability, communication techniques and obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act. It will educate your staff and make them better equipped to offer an inclusive service to all of your customers

› Including Disabled Pupils - Who is it for? – PE teachers and anyone involved in the delivery of Primary and Secondary school PE

This six hour course focuses on the practical delivery of sessions and how to include disabled pupils. It offers an introduction to disability sports and activities that are inclusive for all members of the class.

› Typhoo Sports for All Disability Inclusion Course - Who is it for? - Sports Coaches

This six hour course is designed to give coaches of all sports the ideas and inspiration to adapt their sessions to make them more accessible for disabled participants. It is a theory and practical course that covers terminology, barriers to participation, legislation and guidance and an introduction to disability sports and ways of adapting activities to make them inclusive.

› Inclusive Fitness Initiative - Who is it for? – The IFI scheme is for Gyms and Health & Fitness suites
