Four medals for Brits on penultimate day

Britain go into the final day of the London 2012 Paralympic Games in third place on the medal table after adding one gold and four medals to their tally on day ten.

Headlines:

Stone rolls home for Road Race gold: Tricycle rider David Stone rode what he called the race of his life to successfully defend his T 1-2 Road Race title at Brands Hatch this morning.

Simmonds seals silver: Ellie Simmonds added the 100m Freestyle silver to her two golds and one bronze from London 2012.

Smith strike silver in Boccia singles: David Smith won Individual silver to his Team bronze in the BC1 Boccia final.

ParalympicsGB medals today:   4   Gold: 1.  Silver: 2.  Bronze: 1.

ParalympicsGB medals tally:  118   Gold: 33.  Silver: 42. Bronze: 43.

Sport by sport round-up:

Athletics: Nathan Stephens failed to get among the Javelin medals when he finished 12th, missing out on his last three throws, while Hazel Robson was seventh in her 100m final.

Boccia: David Smith lost to Thailand's Pattaya Tadtong in the final, but leaves London 2012 with two medals, but there was no medal for Stephen McGuire who lost his BC4 bronze medal match 5-3.

Cycling: Stone won GB’s eighth Cycling gold of the Games, retaining his T1-2 Road Race title after a battle with Italy's Giorgio Farroni. Lora Turnham and pilot Fiona Duncan were eighth in the women’s B Road Race as GB topped the Cycling table.

Football 5-a-side: David Clarke’s men beat Turkey 2-0 in the morning sunshine at Riverbank with goals from Clarke and Keryn Seal.

Swimming: Simmonds came from behind on the second length but could not catch the world record-setting Victoria Arlen as Harriet Lee added bronze in the SB9 100m Breaststroke to end GB’s pool campaign.

Wheelchair Basketball: The men missed out on a medal for the first time since Sydney 2000 as they lost their bronze play-off with USA 61-46.

Wheelchair Fencing: The men’s Team finished eighth after losing to the experienced Hungarians following knock-out defeats to world no. 1 side Hong Kong, and Russia.

Wheelchair Rugby: Britain finished fifth in the tournament, beating Sweden 59-47 this evening after overcoming Belgium 54-49 in their morning match.
