The Boccia England Heathcoat Cup and Super League Travel to Cheltenham
Cheltenham plays host to two Boccia England competitions this weekend: the second of five qualifying rounds of the Heathcoat Cup on Saturday 2 December, and the second fixture day of the Super League on Sunday 3 December.
The Heathcoat Cup is an exciting competition for all impairment groups (BC1 – 8) and is perfect for players wanting to start or further their competition experience with the opportunity to qualify for the Heathcoat Cup Finals in April. Classifications BC1 - 8 cover a wider range of disabilities from players with profound physical impairments such as Cerebral Palsy to players with learning difficulties.
Boccia England always welcomes new players and a player at last month’s Heathcoat Cup Sheffield summed up their first experience stating: “This is my first competition, I was really nervous but I’ve loved it; everyone is really friendly.”
The Super League consists of the six top mulit impairments teams in the country, again with players with a wide range of disabilities. Teams earn a place through promotion from the National Boccia League and each fixture day determines placings on the Super League Leaderboard.
This season, we welcome new teams Pace A and Rio’s Rockets into the Super League who were last season’s winners of the National Boccia League. They will join Southern All Stars, Paul’s Place, Jorvik Boccia and Camboccia.
Boccia England organises four Super League Fixture Days across England. Each day is a standalone competition with an overall winner. Team points are accumulated over the season to decide the season Champions.
