Special Olympics GB announce team for 2019 World Games

Special Olympics GB is delighted to announced its team for the 2019 Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi. The World Summer Games is the biggest global event for Special Olympics every four years.

For the World Games in 2019, Special Olympics Great Britain (GB) will be sending a delegation of 129 athletes (125 Special Olympics GB athletes and four unified partners) to the Abu Dhabi to take part in 17 sports. They will join around 7,000 other athletes with learning disabilities from 168 countries around the globe. 

The 15th Special Olympics World Summer Games will take place from 14-21 March 2019. The Games will feature seven days of competition in 24 sports. 

Special Olympics GB will be competing in the following sports at the World Games: Athletics, Badminton, Basketball (male and female team), Bocce, Ten Pin Bowling, Cycling, Equestrian, 7-a-side Football, Golf, Gymnastics (Artistic), Gymnastics (Rhythmic),  Judo, Powerlifting, Sailing, Swimming, Table Tennis and Tennis.
