EFDS to present at Leisure Industry Week

We are delighted to be presenting at LIW this year on Tuesday 24th September 10.30 – 11.15 in the Keynote Theatre.

Emma Spring, Research and Insight Manager at the English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS) will be presenting a session on ‘Disabled people and the leisure industry: Understanding the potential market and how to provide for it.’

EFDS have recently carried out a lifestyle survey to gain evidence and insight into understanding what disabled people think and feel about sport and physical activity.  This information will be shared and provide useful feedback to determine the kind of interventions that are needed to increase the number of disabled people who are currently participating in sport and physical activity.

This lecture session will focus on the following key areas:-

  • Findings from EFDS research which provides an indication of what disabled people would like from the leisure sector
  • An introduction to the support and guidance already available to help improve provision for disabled people
  • Guidance on the changes you can make to improve your service provision for disabled people

The Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI) team will also be at LIW promoting the Marketing Gyms to Disabled People Kitbag and our soon to be released online training course - Delivering an Excellent Service to Disabled Customers.  LIW provides a great networking opportunity for us to meet with fitness equipment suppliers, leisure operators and other partners.  If you would like to meet with us to discuss our products and services during LIW please get in contact to arrange a date and time.

We look forward to seeing you there!.
