Former England cricket captain and Lord’s Taverners supporter, Mike Gatting, said:

"The Lord's Taverners is a wonderful charity and an organisation which I have had a close involvement with over a number of years. It is great to see a charity formally recognising the array of talent and dedication that exists within disability and mainstream sport at the Sporting Chance Awards, many of whom never receive the credit their efforts richly deserve."

Chief Executive Officer of the Lord’s Taverners, Paul Robin, said:

“We look forward to building on the success of last year’s event with an even bigger ceremony this time around. These awards are all about recognising young peoples’ efforts and achievements and we are proud as a charity of giving them a sporting chance, something all young people deserve.”

The Sporting Chance Awards recognise the sporting achievements of young people under the age of 19 and the loyal, selfless work of others which enables young people to experience fulfilment and enjoyment in sport.

Nomination applications close at midday on 30 June 2016.

Shortlisted nominees will be notified by the end of July and invited, along with a guest (two representatives per club/programme), to the Sporting Chance Awards Lunch on 21 October at Guildhall in London.
