Disability Sports Northern Ireland
Disability Sports NI (DSNI) is Northern Ireland's main disability sports organisation and is representative of the vast majority of Northern Ireland's disability sports clubs and organisations. Established in 1997, to tackle the under representation of people with disabilities in sport, the organisation works to promote equality of opportunity for people with disabilities to take part in and enjoy sport and physical activity at a level of their choice.
Disability Sport Wales
The Federation of Disability Sport Wales (DSW) is a pan-disability sport organisation which aims to provide and promote quality sporting and physical activity opportunities for disabled people within Wales. Disability Sport Wales comprises of National Disability Sports Organisations (NDSOs) and sports specific organisations. The Welsh Assembly Government recognises DSW as the National Organisation responsible for the strategic development of sport for disabled people within Wales. English Federation of Disability Sport
Launched in 1998 the English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS) is the umbrella organisation for disability sport in England. English Federation of Disability Sport brings together the eight National Disability Sport Organisations recognised by Sport England. Our mission is:"To be the united voice of disability sport seeking to promote inclusion and achieve equality of sporting opportunities for disabled people."Our objective is to increase participation in sport and ensure disabled people can access the sport and physical activity of their choice, at a level of their choice and the venue of their choice.
Scottish Disability Sport
Scottish Disability Sport (SDS) is the Scottish governing and co-coordinating body of all sports for people of all ages and abilities with a physical, sensory or learning disability. SDS has the vision of leading the development of sport and physical recreation for disabled people in Scotland and contributing to UK and international initiatives. SDS has published a national strategy which will direct the work of the Association through to London 2012 and beyond. SDS lists its major partners as sportscotland, Scotland’s Governing Bodies of Sport and Local Authorities plus Voluntary Organsitions concerned with disability.
