Zoe Vickers a delegate on the Typhoo Sports for All course in Durham on 20 March. Zoe is 28 years old, lives in a Crawcrook, and is the Durham Basketball Development Officer. She works with most colleges, sixth forms and Universities in County Durham.

She has been playing basketball since the age of seven years and start ed to play National League Basketball at the age of 11 and has played at international level and gained many England caps.


What elements of the course you felt were most useful?

“The practical side of the course was excellent, but it wouldn’t have been any use if the theory wasn’t behind why it was needed.”



What additional knowledge/ skills have you gained from attending the course?

“The course has given me many more ideas for how to be able to include everyone with everything. Also opened my eyes to see the difficulties that people do face.”


The difference the course will make to you.

“The course has given me more confidence to be able to adapt other sports, not just basketball, and be able to deliver them to people with any degree of disability.”

 How do you like your tea?

“Probably not the healthiest way though! I take milk and two sugars…but am trying to cut down the sugar…honest.”

What's your first memory of tea?

“Drinking coffee for a long time, then randomly deciding to have a try of tea…very nice)
