Badminton England ready for Para-Badminton World Championships

Badminton England are looking forward to welcoming the world’s best para-badminton stars to the UK next week, when the BWF Para-Badminton World Championships comes home.

The event is being held in Stoke Mandeville, the birthplace of the modern Paralympic movement, from 10-13 September 2015.

The 10th edition of Para-Badminton's flagship global event is set to be the largest in history.

Over 290 competitors from over 35 nations are expected to compete to become world champions in their respective classifications. 23 world titles will be played for over the four days of competition.

The BWF Para-Badminton World Championships will be finale to a busy 2015 season for the world's best Para-Badminton players which includes international events in Spain, Beijing, Dublin and Indonesia.

During the week Badminton England will be running a number of workshops covering a range of subjects covering disability badminton, while tickets to watch the championships will be available to buy on the door for £2 each.

Last year para-badminton was awarded Paralympic status for Tokyo 2020 and England’s para-badminton stars will be hoping to make an impression against the world’s best.
