GBR Equestrian Dressage European Championships team announced

Following all five British horses passing today’s Horse Inspection at the FEI Para-Equestrian Dressage European Championships in Deauville, France, the quartet who will line up to compete for Great Britain in the team event has been announced.

The team has been named as:

Grade Ia, Sophie Christiansen (27) from Berkshire with Athene Lindebjerg, owned by Mrs Diane Redfern
Grade Ia, Anne Dunham (66) from Wiltshire with the Lady Joseph Trust’s LJT Lucas Normark
Grade Ib, Lee Pearson (41) from Staffordshire with Mr and Mrs D Pearson, Mrs Gillian Chinn and his own Zion
Grade IV, Sophie Wells (25) from Nottinghamshire with Charlotte Hogg’s C Fatal Attraction

Grade II, Natasha Baker (25) from Middlesex with Sookie St James, owned by Mr Christian Landolt and Mr and Mrs Baker, will compete as an Individual.

The competition gets underway tomorrow (Friday 18 September) with the team test; the Individual tests take place on Saturday (after which the team and the first Individual medals will be decided) before the weekend’s competition concludes with the Individual Freestyle test on Sunday. A total of seventy-two athletes are competing at these Championships, the last major event before next year’s Paralympic Games.
