Four Tribal Series events to take place in 2016

Four Tribal Series events will take place in 2016, with rules and regulations to ensure everybody can take part.

There will be two Para Tris to coincide with the debut of paratriathlon as a Paralympic sport at Rio 2016 – Para Tri South returns to Dorney Lake in Windsor on 7th August, Para Tri  North will be held at Crosby Lakeside in Liverpool on 24 July.

There are also two brand new events: a Para Swim and a Para Run/Push, a fun run/wheelchair race, at Dorney Lake on 15 May.

The events were chosen to reflect the UK’s three most popular disability sports of swimming, cycling and running.

The primary focus of the series is making sport accessible to the UK’s 12 million disabled people.

Tribal Series founder and Paralympian Sophia Warner said:

“We had an overwhelming response to our first event [in 2015]. Para Tri was a realisation of a 20 year dream and it was amazing to watch participants, most of whom had never contemplated entering an event like this before, come together to achieve something extraordinary.

“We want to build on this by giving the UK’s 12 million disabled people many more inspiring sporting goals for 2016 and beyond.”
