She and Lizzie Tench won gold medals for Great Britain at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games venue.

Steadman has already met the qualification criteria for the Rio Paralympic Games and put on a dominant performance in the PT4 event to finish ahead of teammates Kerry Large and Ruth Wilson, who were racing in only their second ever international events having come through British Triathlon’s talent ID system.

In the same classification, Dave Hill finished third in the very competitive men’s event.

Lizzie Tench built on her PT1 European title won last weekend in Lisbon and Phil Hogg won another British bronze in the PT1 class.

Iain Dawson won silver in the PT5 class for visually impaired athletes, taking Britain’s total to two gold, two silver and three bronze medals.
