Bev Jones and Carly Tait selected to complete ParalympicsGB

The British Paralympic Association (BPA) today announced that Bev Jones and Carly Tait have been added to the ParalympicsGB team for Rio. Both athletes were originally reserves for the athletics team. However, as a result of additional slots being made available to ParalympicsGB, they have now been added to the team that will compete at the Paralympic Games.

Discus thrower Bev Jones will compete at her fifth Games. She won a bronze medal at London 2012 in the F37 category. She will be joined by Stockport’s Carly Tait who made her British team debut at this summer’s European Championships. She won double silver on that occasion in the T34 100m and 400m.

Today’s announcement takes the number of selected athletes to 258 from 19 sports.
