Lions Clubs British Isles Council Chair, David Pope and Lions Liaison Officer, Penny Tregillus were last week welcomed to Activity Alliance’s head office in Loughborough to renew our charitable partnership.

Lions Clubs British Isles is part of Lions International, the world's largest voluntary service club organisation, members volunteer their time to humanitarian causes. For more than 20 years, Lions Clubs have been supporting Activity Alliance regional games and National Junior Athletics Championships, where more than 140 young disabled athletes compete each year.

The support they provide is invaluable for the organisation. By fundraising and volunteering Lions Clubs allow the event to be a success year on year.

Thanks to their generosity Activity Alliance has supported thousands of disabled junior athletes, including former and present Paralympians, to achieve their sporting goals and have fun.

David Pope, Chair of Council, Lions Clubs British Isles said:

"Our partnership with Activity Alliance dates back well over 20 years and it’s a privilege to financially support and get involved with its regional games and Junior Championships. Together the impact we make improves the lives of individuals, families, groups, and whole communities."

Adam Blaze, CEO of Activity Alliance said:

"I was thrilled to once again show Activity Alliance’s commitment to Lions Clubs British Isles. The work they do across their network is incredible, and we are very lucky to have benefitted from their fundraising and volunteering. Every penny they raise has a huge impact, and without their support our events wouldn’t be as successful as they are.
"I look forward to a long and continued partnership as we strive to achieve fairness for disabled people in sport and activity."

This agreement renews the long-term partnership with a hugely valued organisation. Together with partners, like Lions Clubs British Isles, Activity Alliance challenges perceptions and attitudes towards disabled people.
