Level 2 Award in Programming and Supervising Exercise with disabled clients

The CYQ Exercise and Disability qualification was developed as part of the EFDS Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI) and provides instructors with the confidence and expertise to address these barriers and deliver safe, effective and fun exercise programmes for a range of disabled people. The training will take place in Warrington at the Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub.

This includes people with Down's syndrome, Asperger's syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, limbless/amputation-related disability and visual and hearing impairments.

The programme is open to qualified level 2 instructors and consists of two days intensive training followed by assessment approximately four weeks later.

There is a mandatory requirement that the candidate prepares for the assessment by developing a programme with a disabled client and brings that disabled person along with them on the day of the assessment. The assessment consists of a viva based on the written, planned programme with the instructor, the assessor and the disabled client and the completion of three detailed worksheets.
